The Menu Technician's post was snatche d up by Wayne Venables. As IO Standards tech, you will be working directly with me, since I have MicroHelp's Communications library. I will supply you with du mmy 'wrapper' routines that will act like a modem simulator. You just have to s end call the dummy routines in your code. When it gets plugged into the whole s ystem, then it will really roll. You won't have to actually deal with modem cod e. You need to know HOW to get a transfer started, etc., but the actual code is already written. Your main job will be to provide an interface. For instance, when I want to send a message over the modem, I need an interface routine to do that for me. You would design 'subModemPrint' to allow me to forg et about the actual modem and error checking involved. Your routine would in tu rn call MicroHelp's library. Or, how about if I want to send a message to the s ysop's host screen? 'subSysopPrint' would do it. You get the idea? I'll give you your first assignment later today. Glad to have you aboard.
